Icicles of Misotsuchi is famous as a sightseeing spot in winter. Located in Oku Chichibu, Saitama Prefecture which is part of Kanto Region.
It can be seen only from the middle of January to the middle of February, which is a very freezing season. That’s why there are very beautiful icicles and they show us such a mythical atmosphere. At night, they light up and they are more mystical than the day time.
There are 2 types of icicles which are natural and artificial icicles. Each icicle has their own beauty.
(Natural)
The width is 30 meters and the length is 8 meters. They always change their looks every year since its natural icicles. This is exactly the art of nature.
(Artificial)
The width is 55 meters and the length is 25 meters. It is very impressive and you will be surprised.
Should be aware of enjoying the Icicles of Misotsuchi. Be sure to dress warmly and be careful the ground may be slippery!
There is a cafe where you can buy hot drinks and foods near the entrance. You can get warm from the inside before/after seeing the Icicles.
