Fushimi Inari-Taisha was originally and remains primarily the god of rice and agriculture, then it became worshiped as a guardian deity of business prosperity, family safety, traffic safety, and improvement performing arts.
It is famous for the torii gates. The custom to donate a torii began from the Edo period to have a wish come true. Along the main path, there are around 1,000 torii gates.
