As of September 27th 2022,
Under Covid 19 restrictions, visa exemption measures for U.S. passport holders have been suspended. All foreign nationals are required to obtain a visa. Please visit the Embassy of Japan in the USA site for more information.
After October 11th 2022 Japan Time,
US passport holders do not need a Visa to enter Japan for the short-term stay, 90 days or less, and do not need to receive the ERFS certificate.
Proof of vaccination (fully vaccinated with a booster) or a negative test certificate received within 72 hours before departure will still be required.
