[Shizuoka] Kunozan Toshogu Shrine
Sep 15,2023 by My JR Pass Comments 0

Kunozan Toshogu Shrine is located in Suruga-ku, Shizuoka Prefecture which is in the Chubu region. Ieyasu Tokugawa is enshrined and was designated as a National Treasure in 2010.

There are two ways to go to the Kunozan Toshogu Shrine. The one is to take a ropeway, and the one where you can hike up 1159 stone steps. Long time ago there was no ropeway, people had to hike up to go to the shrine.  If you are interested in hiking up, you should try! It must be hard but you can see the scenic view with the Sugaru Bay from the top.

☀ For your reference,

Near Suruga bay is famous as an Ishigaki strawberry district.

There are many strawberry farms. If it's the best season for strawberries, you must go and enjoy strawberry picking!
