Sakurai Futamigaura’s Couple Stones is a famous attraction in Fukuoka for its white torii and the couple stones.
It was chosen as one of the top 100 beaches in Japan and the top 100 sunsets in Japan.
Located in Itoshima, Fukuoka Prefecture which is in the Kyushu Region.
When you hear the word “Futamigaura’s Couple Stones”, Mie Prefecture may come to your mind. However, Fukuoka has Futamigaura’s Couple Stone as well and it is known as seeing the best sunset spot. Mie Prefecture is known for the best sunrise spot.
The best time to visit and see the sunset is around summer solstice (June). The sun is just falling down between the stones.
Highly recommend seeing the view in front of the white Torii as it is sacred and mysterious.
During the day, the cobalt blue color’s ocean and the white Torii are very beautiful and after that, falling down at sunset and the sky color changes over time. You will be getting to take it all in for a while after that by magnificent scenery.
