Kawazu cherry blossom is known for an early-blooming cherry blossom. Located in Izu Peninsula, Shizuoka Prefecture which is part of the Chubu region.
They will be holding “Kawazu Cherry Blossom Festival 2024” from February 1st to February 29th since the expected starting bloom is around that time. There are over 800 cherry blossom trees along the river.
Some areas of trees light up from 6pm to 9pm. Also, there are many street food stores where you can enjoy eating while seeing cherry blossoms.
Since Kawazu cherry trees are one of the earliest blooming in Japan, especially full bloom that is expected in about mid February to the end of February, many visitors come to see the cherry blossoms.
If you visit Japan during this season and give up on seeing cherry blossoms since it is still not a season for cherry blossoms, Kawazu is the best place to visit!
