Located in northern Hyogo Prefecture, Kinosaki Onsen is one of the top hot spring towns in Kansai Region. There are more than 70 Ryokan (traditional Japanese Inn) you can choose and find the one that fits your need and budget. You can experience the culture and tradition of Japan during your stay.
One charming point about Kinosaki Onsen is that you can walk around the town wearing a yukata at any time. If you have not worn a yukata before and do not know how to wear it, do not worry, the staff in your ryokan are willing to help you out. Wearing cultural clothing makes you feel new and different in a good way.
Matsuba-Gani (snow crab) is extremely famous in Kinosaki Onsen that Kinosaki is also called as Crab Kingdom. Most ryokans serve Matsuba crab for delicious and luxurious “kaiseki” dinner and those are taken directly from the local fishing ports called Tsuiyama and Shibayama.
The Matsuba Crab season in Kinosaki Onsen is from November 7th to March 31st, so we would recommend going there during that time!
