Niyodogawa, the river, flows between Ehime Prefecture and Kochi Prefecture about 124 km in length. It was selected many times for the best quality of water in Japan. Located in Kochi Prefecture, which is in the Shikoku Region.

As the water is clear and breathtakingly beautiful, people call it “Niyodo blue”. The color of the water may change to green or blue depending on the season. The color also may change by sunlight and the best time to see is around noon.
From the middle to downstream, you can enjoy leisure activities such as camps, fishing, rafting, shower climbing, SUP and more.
Nikobuchi, Niko Deep, is one of the famous spots. Even though it is a basin, it looks like you can see the bottom of the basin as the water is very clear, and the gradation of the color of water is a breathtaking view. It is a very famous spot for visitors these days, but up until a few decades ago, the locals were trying to stay away since it is a sacred place. If you visit Niyodogawa, please respect their rule. This place has been protected over the years by the locals to keep it as its beauty.
