Long-awaited Ghibli Park
Mar 29,2023 by My JR Pass Comments 0

Did you know that Japan has finally opened a Ghibli theme park in Aichi?

Ghibli Park was opened on November 1st, 2022, inside the Aichi Earth Expo Memorial Park.

The outstanding and unique world-building that Hayao Miyazaki, the co-founder of Studio Ghibli, created for the animation will come to life!

There will be no big attraction or rides like roller coasters, so the guests are encouraged to “take a stroll, feel the wind, and discover the wonders.” You will be able to experience the fascinating Ghibli World by just walking around the park.

Currently there are 3 areas open to visitors out of 5 that Studio Ghibli is working on.

The 3 areas are: Ghibli’s Grand Warehouse (Ghibli no Daisoko), Hill of Youth (Seishun no Oka), and Dondoko Forest (Dondoko Mori).

The other 2 areas, which are Mononoke Village (Mononoke no Sato) and Valley of Witches (Majyo no Tani), are planned to open before the end of this year, 2023.

There are many things you can enjoy while visiting Ghibli Park:

  1. There will be a cinema that plays the beloved, famous scenes from Studio Ghibli’s films.
  2. There are many gift shops where you can buy adorable souvenirs that are only sold at Ghibli Park.
  3. The Ghibli Café has a mouthwatering menu that salutes the local food culture that the park is located in.

Don’t you think Ghibli Park is one of the reasons why you should travel to Japan?
