Ginzan Onsen, a hot spring town, is famous for four distinct seasons as you can feel the flow of the beautiful seasons. Located in Yamagata Prefecture which is part of the Tohoku Region.
The buildings have a retro look and nostalgia scene. It reminds visitors of the scenes of the Ghibli film “Spirited Away” by Hayao Miyazaki.
There are traditional ryokan along the river. You can enjoy something different by wearing a Yukata and walking beside the river.
It can be seen beautiful scene all seasons but especially winter is the most beautiful as the snow piled up the buildings. The warm light from the gas lamps is blanketing and even more romantic.

1. One of the signature foods in Ginzan Onsen is curry bread which is curry inside the bread.
2. Nogawa Tofuya’s tofu (right) and deep-fried thick tofu (left), which is famous for its handmade tofu and its taste.
Besides these there are more spots you can enjoy eating around, sightseeing and shopping.
