MIHO MUSEUM is famous for the beautiful view from a tunnel that leads to the museum. Located in Shigaraki, Shiga Prefecture, the museum is surrounded by beautiful nature. The concept is inspired by the Peach Blossom Garden, a story from the Chinese poet Tao Yuanming. The museum is closed for the winter but will reopen from March 15th to June 8th this year.
In spring, cherry blossoms bloom at the end of the tunnel, creating a beautiful pink reflection on the walls. Walking through a pink tunnel feels like a truly magical experience. Many visitors come to witness this breathtaking view during this time.
There’s also a cafe and restaurant where you can relax and enjoy some food.
How to Get There:
From Osaka or Kyoto: Take the JR Kyoto Line or Biwako Line to Ishiyama Station in Shiga.
It takes about 40 minutes from Osaka and around 10 minutes from Kyoto on the express train.
