Osaka castle
Osaka castle known as “Osaka-jo” is one of the most famous castles in Japan. Built by military commander, Hideyoshi Toyotomi, who is known for reunifying Japan after war. Having suffered destruction many times, the castle has been restored a number of times. The donjon or main tower, built in 1931, was designated a Registered Tangible Cultural Property in 1997 by the Japanese Government.
Today, the castle is used as a museum displaying the history of the castle and the great commander Hideyoshi. During your visit you can enjoy a traditional Japanese garden surrounding the castle with changing seasonal. Spring offers fully bloomed cherry blossoms, and many people go cherry blossom viewing (hanami) to enjoy eating and drinking under the beautifully bloomed cherry blossoms.
