Sapporo Snow Festival is one of the largest winter festivals of Hokkaido. It began in 1950 because middle/high school students made 6 snow artworks displayed in Odori Park. In this festival, many artwork made of snow and ice is on display. There are all 3 sites held from February 4th to February 11st, 2025 a week. Each site has different snow/ice artworks and an enjoyable atmosphere.
The Odori site: the main site and is over 1km of artworks all in a row and it lights up after sunset until 10pm.
The Tsudome site: snow slides and snow rafting are very popular and family-friendly. There are also indoor booths, rest areas, and play areas for children.
The Susukino site: 60 ice sculptures from the ice sculpture competition site and etc. will be on display.
